CRedIBlE
– Circular REDesign for a Resource-efficient, Innovative, and Transformative Built Environment
CRedIBlE aims to advance circularity in the European built environment by embedding adaptability, reuse, and deconstruction principles into building design, renovation, and end-of-life strategies. Through a holistic and digitally enabled approach, CRedIBlE seeks to transform construction practices by integrating circular economy concepts with advanced digital tools and real-world validation. The project focuses on supporting designers, engineers, material suppliers, public authorities, and building owners in adopting circular and resource-efficient solutions aligned with EU sustainability objectives.
Develop and Promote Circular Construction: Develop tools and services to support the adoption of circular design, adaptability, reuse, and deconstruction practices across the European construction sector.
Implement Digital Circular Technologies:
Deploy BIM-based ICT, AI, and Digital Twin technologies to enhance material traceability, lifecycle optimisation, and circular renovation decision-making.
Launch an Interoperable Platform:
Create a user-friendly, cloud-based digital ecosystem supporting circular construction workflows and stakeholder collaboration across Europe.
Standardise Circularity Assessment Processes:
Develop harmonised methodologies for assessing material reuse, adaptability, and deconstruction potential, aligned with EU standards.
Integrate Digital Product Passports: Enable storage of material and component information through Digital Product Passports within digital building records.
Identify Circular Upgrade Strategies: Link circularity indicators to lifecycle impacts to support cost-effective, low-carbon renovation and reuse solutions.
Enhance Stakeholder Engagement:
Increase awareness and capacity through training, knowledge platforms, and circular construction communities.
Improve Building Lifecycle Performance:
Integrate circularity assessments with sustainability evaluations to enhance resource efficiency and resilience.
